User experiences sluggishness and wonkiness in long chats, leading them to create a complex workaround involving daily new chats and manual snapshots to prevent model drift and maintain context. They desire a more robust built-in solution for handling extended conversations.
I have a very similar system, but because long chats get sluggish (and sometimes wonky), I create a new chat for planning for each day. They’re all in a “daily workflow” folder, and at the end of each day, ChatGPT creates a snapshot in a content block I can easily paste into the next day’s chat. The snapshot is always the same format, includes all open tasks, projects, and key dates, and includes instructions for the model to prevent drift. So far, so good.
