Photoshop currently opens images as locked backgrounds, requiring users to unlock each layer manually. This is inefficient for users who frequently work with multiple images.
Hey all! Sorry if this isn’t the right place for this. Just say the word if so haha also, I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to PhotoShop haha I know my way around some general photo editing for work but that’s sort of it. So hopefully I can explain this right haha I’m on a Mac as well fwiw, and am only working with 10 or so photos at a time generally. Anyways, usually I’ll open up files in PS and it defaults to the Crop tool where I have a preset saved for the right sizing. So I’ll literally just open a bunch of photos, and be able to hit enter twice on any photo that I’m on and it’s cropped. But randomly today, it started defaulting to opening photos as a locked background, and I have to unlock the layer on each photo, and then hitting enter does nothing when I’m on the Crop tool now. It’s done this once before a couple of years ago but I can’t forget what I did to change it back. The only work around I’ve found in the interim is to sort of drag and draw/highlight a selection and then adjust it from there. Which is obviously really inefficient. A quick google and I saw that I can do a batch automation for something? So my questions are… 1. Why did it randomly change to opening everything up as a locked background? I didn’t update anything and it’s been a long time since it did this. Did I maybe accidentally turn some feature on or off? 2. How do I fix it? If it’s even possible haha 3. Is doing a batch automation better in general? Even if I wasn’t having this issue? Thanks so much!!
