The user finds comparing two segments in GA4 needlessly complicated compared to previous versions, desiring a more straightforward method.
After transitioning from Slack, my experience with Google Analytics 4 has left me feeling quite disappointed. I spent like six hours attempting to understand it. And I still find myself uncertain about how to effectively use GA4. Here’s everything WRONG with GA4: 1. Comparing two segments, a task that used to be straightforward, has become needlessly complicated. 2. I have traffic I want to filter out, and it is not clear how to do that. It took me hours to figure this out. 3. @googleanalytics 4 has a habit of filtering out pages with low traffic volume, and I had to dig into the admin panel to disable Google Signals and switch the reporting identifier back to device mode. Unfortunately, they didn't offer any guidance on these issues, and I had to resort to Google searches for solutions. 4. Creating audiences is not easy and not sure if it is working, I duplicated the audience and the numbers do not match, below they are duplicates of each other, and the user volumes DO NOT MATCH. It's like trying to teach an old dog new tricks after @google's had us on one UI for the past 6-8 years. As mentioned in a report by @sengineland, GA4 has been criticized for several drawbacks and its increased complexity compared to Universal Analytics. 5. GA4 has a delay in reporting same-day data, making it challenging for advertisers who require real-time monitoring. 6. Marketers, including experienced ones, have found GA4 more challenging to navigate compared to Universal Analytics. 7. Some users, like me, wish for a simpler version of GA4 for those who don't need its advanced features. Apart from the features, it's about any major product transition. The lack of training, guides, or tutorials has left many of us feeling lost in this sea of change. So, here I am, still searching for a straightforward, user-friendly web analytics tool. While there are some options out there, none seem to quite meet my needs. It's evident that there's a gap in the market, and someone should step in to fill it as soon as possible. And it's disheartening to see these significant companies falling short in providing seamless transitions and adequate support during these changes. What is happening to all of them?
