The user had to email support to delete their account and remove Stripe integration, and received no response for two days. They desire a self-service option for these actions, indicating a missing feature for account management.
For a couple of days, I've been exploring available payment integrations for micro SaaS, trying out @stripe, @PaddleHQ, and @lemonsqueezy in test mode. I'll share my impressions and why I decided to continue with Stripe. 1. Lemonsquezzy - merchant of record based on Stripe Connect, essentially a wrapper for Stripe, making integration as simple as with Stripe, but it doesn't work in regions where Stripe is unavailable. Commissions are higher than Paddle, and the test dashboard looks somewhat raw. To delete the account, you need to email support; you can't remove the integration with Stripe yourself. Sent a request to delete the account two days ago, haven't received any response yet. 2. Paddle - seems a bit outdated to me, lacks the same Payment Link feature like Stripe, you need a landing page with an integrated Paddle payment section. Advantages include working in some regions where Stripe isn't available. If your product's price is less than $10, they offer a fixed 10% commission. It's a merchant of record. 3. Stripe - easy to integrate, excellent documentation, great testing environment, well-established brand. Lowest fees among the three considered options. Many useful features. Perfect for launching a small SaaS; perhaps I won't even need a merchant of record :) In any case, Stripe promises to notify when the tax threshold is reached. #saas #buildinginpublic #indiehackers
