Saw it on Tik Tok and wanted to share here. It’s genuinely so simple it feels like it wouldn’t work but here we are: \- think of a short word (4-5 letters). For this example let’s say my word is ROCK \- think of like 5-10 words (off the dome, don’t overthink it) that begin with the first letter. Example: Right, rubber, rain, rest, regular, regulate, random, ransom \- move on to the next letter and do the same thing throughout the main word. Example: only, oil, online, one, old, can, camp, count, cold, crisp, king, knight, kick, kiss, kid, kind, Kong Don’t judge yourself, don’t overthink, just focus on the words. Once I finish one word I’ll pick another and go through the exercise again. I have had insomnia consistently for 2+ years now I haven’t gotten through 2 whole words yet. I think it just does the right amount of focusing my mind on something boring while also maintaining almost like a meditative state. Hope this helps someone!
