Salon owners operating multiple locations require software that can effectively manage scheduling, client data, and operations across all sites, preventing issues like double-bookings.
I run two salon locations and finally upgraded from Calendly after one too many scheduling disasters (double bookings, frustrated clients, etc.). Spent weeks comparing options from cheap to $$$ so figured I'd share what I found in case it helps anyone else. **What I compared for scheduling:** **Square Appointments** * Pros: free/cheap to start if you’re running a small salon, easy to add on if you already use Square for other things like payments, clients can book through Square profile * Cons: gets more expensive quickly if you have multiple locations, have to use multiple apps if you want more functionality **Vagaro** * Pros: super affordable, has a lot of features, large marketplace for client discovery * Cons: interface feels dated and a lot of reviews mention slow performance **Boulevard** * Pros: I really liked the interface, feels really high-end, and has powerful marketing automation * Cons: expensive, annual contract required, probably overkill if you want simpler operations **Mangomint** * Pros: felt really easy to learn from the trial, no contracts, reviews say how good support is * Cons: not the cheapest for small teams and more than you’d need for a singly providermore than you need for single chair **Phorest** * Pros: I liked their loyalty and referral features, decent reporting * Cons: interface felt dated to me, had to request a quote for pricing I went with Mangomint because I liked the way it handled my multiple locations and felt easy to get my team up and running in coming from essentially no software. The no-contract thing sealed it since I wasn't locked in if it didn't work out. Happy to answer questions if anyone's deciding between these.
