Users are looking for a travel advice platform that is not heavily monetized and provides genuine information without ads or personal stories that distract from the content.
What's your favourite travel blog or book for trip ideas, general advice for any given country, and activities? I lean towards nature, history, and hiking. Not food or shopping orientated. I personally am over all the heavily monetised search engine results. I'm not interested in reading about your life story, how you got attacked by a bear, your priviliged upbringing that allowed you to find yourself solo travelling at 18, blah blah blah all with extensive ad hyperlinks disguised as advice, embedded instagram posts, or hyperlinks in general to keep people on your website longer so you can sell that one insurance policy. Is what I am asking for a thing of the past? To me, this is the overwhelming part of travel advice and info. I've got no idea where to look for information on any location without being bombarded by privileged people who monetise information for their own gain. Trip advisor is one site I've looked at that isn't as bad (for reviews and tours). I've heard lonely planet books have gone downhill. What else is there to go to?
