The AI's image generation for teaching materials often results in a collection of appropriate images "slapped on a canvas," making the output unusable for the actual purpose. The user desires an AI that can produce coherent, usable visuals and worksheets for educational contexts.
I try to use gpt to make visuals and worksheets for my students, but it always ends up the same, me making the materials myself. In my experience the output is always like someone reached into a random stack of categorically appropriate images and then slapped them on a canvas. The end result has the “things” from the prompt, but is always unusable for the actual purpose. It’s unfortunate because a huge amount of time is spent on creating teaching materials and if AI offered a shortcut that would be amazing.
