When visiting new cities, users are forced to download new local parking apps, create accounts, and add payment methods. They desire the ability to pay for parking quickly using methods like Apple Pay without needing to create a new account, especially for short visits.
Often when I'm looking at it, it feels like parking companies have designed their entire UX around the assumption that drivers are trying to get away with not paying. They optimize for the 1% of drivers trying to skip out and punish the other 99% with: - Confusing signs that feel like they’re screaming at you - Apps that ask you to create a new account/password every visit - Harsh penalties of ticketing or towing when people (inevitably) can't figure out how to pay because of the above Then they wonder why every parking facility has 2-star reviews. Most drivers are not trying to steal parking. They just want to pay quickly and leave. Make it simple and they will! One of our Charleston lots has 900+ reviews at 4.8 stars. No other parking facility in America has those numbers (that I'm aware of!) We got these numbers because we built AirGarage for the 99% of drivers with good intentions: Scan QR code → enter license plate → pay → done! And we remember all your info for the next time to make it even easier. Turns out happy drivers are great for business :)
