The user is requesting that Mazda include the signature lights on the trunk of the top trim PHEV version of the CX-70/90. They note that it's strange that this feature is missing and that they have to buy the part separately and install it themselves.
So I have been driving this car for about 4 months now here in Florida. Bought the CX70 Premium Plus as a CPO with 700 miles for $44k out the door back in December. The odometer is now at almost 3600 miles. This car has been absolutely amazing and though I understand some of the criticism of its interior size and range, once you understand how to drive this vehicle it's a dream. Before I was driving a 2016 Honda Accord before it was totalled that I have had for almost 9 years. I charge this car every day to go to work that is about 22-25 miles each way depending on the direction I take. It's only charged to 90% each time and I get far more than the 27 miles of electric range at 100% as advertised. I would typically get anywhere between 2.2 and 2.6m/KWH each time I check the trip screen when driving in ev mode. With the regen I can get half of my trip back home on ev. Today I took a picture of my screens. This was similar to yesterday. I drove 22 miles in ev. I have about 25% of battery left and it's estimating I have about 9 miles of ev range left. Yesterday I got 11miles of ev driving when the thing said I have 8. This has been one of the best vehicles I have ever driven. With the way the world is now and gas prices are increasing, this car has been fantastic. My charge point charger says it's about $2.40 to charge my car to 90%. Do I have criticisms? Yes but every car has its issues. 1. Mazda why were you not putting the signature lights on the trunk of the top trim of the PHEV version? I get that I can buy the part now for $450 and install it myself but still that's a weird choice. 2. Why do you not paint the plastic trim at the bottom. It's a top trim car that is similar price to the turbo s. 3. The moon roof kinda sucks when it's open. This should be redesigned to open more. Overall every time I drive this car, I am amazed what Mazda did here. This was the best purchase over the Passport and the Santa Fe I was looking at without a second thought. If anyone is looking at these vehicles, don't let the all of the stories scare you. It's a good car.
