Advertised range is measured with a 50 kg rider in ideal conditions, which is not real usage. Most riders are 80–100 kg, with hills, stops, and acceleration which drastically reduces range. Manufacturers should show real-world ranges and test conditions.
Advertised range is measured with a 50 kg rider in ideal conditions. That’s not real usage. Most riders are 80–100 kg, with hills, stops, and acceleration which drastically reduces range. Example: On a Xiaomi 5 Pro, a 100 kg rider gets (my example) 16-17 km on a full charge, far below the claimed numbers (60km). This would be like phone manufacturers listing “27h screen usage” instead of actual battery capacity (5000 mah), without clearly defined conditions. Until manufacturers show real-world ranges and test conditions, assume you’ll get around 50-60% (or less) of what’s advertised....
