User complains about "windows popping up constantly" from Cursor's native agent when using a third-party extension (Codex) and wishes to interact directly with the extension instead, implying a need for better control over the native agent's UI prominence.
I use both Claude and Cursor, and while Claude on the CLI is fun for a lot of things, I have been finding myself coming back to Cursor over and over. I want to see the code. I want to review it to make sure it is correct. The Cursor UI/UX way better suited for that than Claude. Also... I've been really impressed by their latest Composer 2.0 model. It is very good, and wicked fast. Cursor is supposedly in the "weakest" position because they don't truly have "their own" models like Anthropic and OpenAI and "it's just a fork of VSCode", but it's the main tool that I keep going back to. Even after using Claude CLI, I will sometimes open Cursor to check and review the code changes, because it has become my main editor. If you find yourself in a position where you like the speed benefits of AI, but still want to ensure you're not shipping vibe code slop before you open a PR, check out Cursor. It's a great balanced tool.
