The user has a UGREEN Revodok Pro 312 and needs more ports for their microphone, Steam Deck, keyboard, and mouse. They prefer to use ports on the back of the device to keep the front clear.
Hi everyone! I wanted to ask if anyone else is having the same issue. I have the **UGREEN Revodok Pro 312**, and it works great overall — but I’m running into one problem: **not enough ports**. I need more ports for my microphone, Steam Deck, keyboard, and mouse. Call me weird, but I really don’t like using the ones on the front. Has anyone found a solution, like extending a USB hub from the docking station? Did it work well? Any recommendations are welcome — and if it’s a **budget-friendly** option, even better! If you’re wondering why I’m trying to do this: I use **two Macs** for work — one personal and one from my job — and I want to keep things simple. Ideally, I’d just switch the single cable coming from the dock depending on which Mac I’m using, and have all my gadgets and devices switch along with it, without having to plug or unplug anything else. **One cable for everything.** That’s where the port problem comes in. I thought about buying a USB hub, but I don’t want to waste money on one that looks great on paper but ends up not working properly. I’m only looking for a hub with **USB-A and USB-C ports** — no HDMI, Ethernet, or SD card slots, just the basics. I understand it might be hard to find one that has exactly what I want, and that’s fine — as long as it works reliably. Has anyone else dealt with the same issue? **KVM switches** don’t seem like a great option for me since my setup includes **three machines: two Macs and one Windows PC**. It works fine for now — I don’t use the Windows machine much, so when I do, I just connect the keyboard and mouse manually. But for the Macs, I’ve got a nice, seamless setup that I don’t want to mess up because of port limitations or switching hassles. If any of you have a similar **three-device setup**, how do you handle it? It would be awesome if you could share a system that allows an **all-in-one setup** for quick, easy switching between devices. If KVM ends up being the best solution, I’m open to considering it — but only if you can recommend it from **personal experience** (they’re too expensive to buy just for testing). Thanks!
