A user is facing issues with collections and is seeking guidance. They suggest that neobanks could improve their customer support to assist users with financial inquiries more effectively.
Received a collections notice in the mail today for county, school and municipal taxes that are apparently delinquent. The problem is they are claiming they are for tax year 2025, the year we are paying right now and are still well within the deadline to file and pay. The notice says I have 10 days to pay them $47 or face potential lawsuit or wage garnishment. I’m paid up on all previous year’s taxes as well. The reviews on the agency are absolutely garbage and people claiming similar scam like experiences. What should I do with this bill if anything? I’ve emailed the company for clarification, but annoyingly got the letter on a weekend so won’t hear back for a while. Edit: I should clarify this place is a legit collections agency with a brick and mortar building not an obvious scam
