User is looking for a personal, local, and open source alternative to Notion that focuses on task management and pages functionality for personal use.
My main problem with notion is that it is very much focused on teams and online functionality. I want something that would replicate the task management and pages functionality of notion but is more focused on personal use and is all local on my device, ideally open source. I use notion for the following: Managing my daily, weekly, monthly tasks Keeping a diary Having loose pages as dumps for links/images/ideas/brainstorming I am trying out Obsidian right now and it is almost what I want but lacks tasks management and does not obscure markdown enough, which I can deal with if there is no better alternative but notion is just a tiny bit more seamless on my tablet. Also I would like some functionality that's not on notion which I can't find anywhere - having files that are in-between a canvas and a markdown document, where I can type , but also insert, resize and move images and draw with my tablet pen. All the tools that allow this are canvas first and allow you to insert text, while what I want is the other way around being a text document first with extra functionality (I guess kind of like Microsoft word but not sucking) edit: I think I basically want the windows version of onenote but on an android tablet. unfortunately onenote sucks on android
