User requests improved power management for Heltec ESP32 devices. Currently, when battery voltage drops to 2.7V, the device enters a boot loop and requires a manual reboot even after charging resumes. A "Sleeping Beauty mode" or similar solution is needed to prevent this behavior and allow automatic recovery.
### Platform ESP32 ### Description There is lots of talk and speculation on Reddit about power management for the Heltec ESP32 devices. They got this far, but I cannot swear this is all true. When the Heltec unit runs down to 2.7 V, they say, it boot loops, running down to 2.5 V, then it turns off. Even if the sun comes out and the solar panel starts charging again, the device needs a manual reboot to start again. Some people suggested that it's a power issue. No matter the size of the battery, the small wires to a PH1.25 plug aren't substantial enough for the current at the start of a V4 transmit cycle. A capacitor added across the battery leads will supply the instantaneous current needed. One suggested a 6000 mAh battery as a minimum for V4. That's ludicrous. For my part, I can tell you that the V4 won't run all night. When I retrieve the unit after the sun comes up and charging starts, the unit still needs a manual reboot.
