User relies on buckwheat (sobakawa) pillows for neck pain and migraines but finds existing travel versions too heavy and bulky for international trips. They need a travel pillow that offers the same neck support and benefits of a buckwheat pillow but in a significantly lighter and more compact form factor for easier portability.
Hi. I have neck pain and migraines and have used a buckwheat hull filled pillow at home for years. I usually bring a smaller one with me on domestic trips but it's still very heavy and takes up a lot of room. I've searched this sub and seen different things about pillows provided at hotels–some have their own sobakawa pillows, some have crummy flat pillows. Is it better for me to bring my own travel pillow or assume there will be buckwheat type pillows at hotels? We arrive to Tokyo very late so I wouldn't be able to buy a pillow locally, plus then I'd still be carrying the pillow around with me there if I buy one there. I just don't want to risk having a lousy time because of headaches and poor sleep with a bad pillow. We will be staying at 3 different hotels during our trip. Thanks!
