User needs 3D printer software that can be installed portably. This is due to IT policies in a school environment where frequent updates are an issue and software installation requests face delays. A portable install would bypass these issues.
As is evident from the title, I am looking for a budget colour printer. I am looking at Black Friday and want to keep this under $500USD. I am a teacher, and this comes out of my own pocket, however, the school pays for filament. I want this for my middle school classroom. While it will be behind my desk, there will still be exposure to finger poking. This led me to the Anycubic, or the Flashforge with the enclosure kit. I suppose I should add the Bambu Lab P1S Combo to the list. However, it pushes out of my price range. I have very limited control over the software. I can request to have software added, and eventually, IT will get around to installing it. As such, things that need to be frequently updated are an issue. My preference is for software that can allow a portable install. I currently have a TronXY X5SA Pro and will keep it for larger jobs, but it is quite slow and "pause at layer," for colour changes, has never worked. My desire is for something faster, and that will automatically make colour changes. These three seem to be the most common budget recommendations. Any suggestions?
