User reports that the favorites list in IPTVnator 0.19.0 on Linux is not working correctly. Favorites are not saved reliably, and the list sometimes fails to load. Downgrading to 0.17.0 or 0.18.0 resolves the issue.
Greets. As mentioned earlier, I recently jumped from IPTVnator 0.16 to 0.19.0. And either I'm not finding some changed controls or I'm infested with a terrible bug. I'm using the list generated by iptv-org, as I have from the beginning. I get the whole thing, which is enormous but sometimes I want to look at things from overseas. I've always gone through, favorited the stuff I'm inclined to watch regularly, and watched from the favorites list, which I realize now is gotten at by clicking the star at the top of the home screen. The problem is, this sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. At first it wouldn't save favorites at all, so I purged it (which unfortunately didn't get rid of everything, so I had to use the "locate" command and go through and nuke what was left that I could find. I reinstalled IPTVnator. Oddly, the playlists that I had before were still listed. Which was and is a worry. Nevertheless, it seemed as if I could save favorites. Though some don't seem to take. I got 12 to work okay, but since then, nothing. Is there some new procedure? I'm accustomed to clicking the star at the top of the page within a particular playlist to add a channel to favorites. Is there some new and improved method? It would be good for the favorites to be stored in a file (capable of being backed up, while we're at it), but if they are I've never been able to find it. I'd really hate to have to manually create and edit a separate .m3u playlist of my favorites. Anybody know about this stuff? UPDATE: I had a dozen favorites saved and working reliably, I thought. I attempted to add two more. Now when I select the Global Favorites star, I get the circling arrows and "Loading Favorites" forever. FURTHER UPDATE: Soent the afternoon nuking 0.19.0 and installing 0.17.0 -- everything seems to work fine. Uninstalled 0.17.0 and installed 0.18.0. Everything seems to work just fine. (Though I haven't had it running long enough to see if my one major complaint, it going to a white screen requiring a close/restart, has been cured.) So it seems that 0.19.0 is where the problem resides. If the WSOD is fixed, I'm content with it and glad I made a small donation to the project. As we all should do.
