User critiques that requiring explicit permission for tracking means the tracked individual will always be aware, which 'defeats the whole purpose' for certain use cases. They desire a system that allows for more discreet location tracking, where permissions are managed without constantly alerting the tracked person.
If you have to have someone's permission to track their phone, there's no way they're not going to know you're doing so. They'll just assume you're doing it all the time. Kinda defeats the whole purpose.
