Customers frequently find their online sub orders at Publix are not ready for pickup, even with extra lead time, because the deli staff often hasn't started them or received the printed ticket. The digital system needs to reliably sort orders and print tickets to ensure timely fulfillment.
Worked at Publix 6 yrs full time (grocery) not deli. Just started ordering subs online about two years ago, and after maybe 50 subs paid for in advance I would say less than half were ready for pickup when I arrived at the store, even with an extra 30 minute leeway. So if I order a sub for pickup at 7pm and show up at 8pm it’s usually not even started and they don’t have the ticket printed? Is this a common occurrence for anybody else? How does the digital system sort orders / print tickets? Also my sub orders aren’t complicated it’s usually their ultimate sub on white toasted with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion. Ha
