According to this NYT writer, DIY #smarthome will continue to be a challenge despite the current #AI reboot. But, in my opinion, as DIY products continue to evolve and are further enabled via AI, those of us in the #residentialintegration industry (including manufacturers) will need to evolve even faster. As an example, more and more clients would prefer using multiple apps as opposed to a fully integrated control system. Do you agree? What needs to happen over the next 3-5 years to avoid being commoditized as an industry?
