User highlights the disparity in pricing between the MacBook Neo and other models in Mexico, suggesting a need for Apple to consider fair pricing strategies in international markets to make their products more accessible.
Y'know I have been seriously questioning whether to get an M1 air or a Neo, and while the choice might seem obvious because they cost the same in reality, at least here in Mexico, the Macbook Neo costs 150$ more than the M1 base model refurbished (with 256 SSD and 8GB) and while you can make an argument for education discount not everyone has access to it. And what is also funny for me is that ppl were claiming that the Air was more worth it than the 512 neo but here even then the price gap between the base air and the 512 neo is still like $500. And if you go to the extreme, a maxxed out M3 Ultra Mac Studio costs $5000 USD more in Mexico than in the US. Buying Apple used is the only option in any country that isn't the US, and the Neo unfortunately doesn't change that. PS: Yes I am aware that it's because of sales tax but ours is 16% and the highest in the US is only like 9% so we still get boned.
