So, I was grabbing these jugs (5 of them, the 6th was from another place) from a dumpster behind a red brick storefront. I clean & use these to collect maple sap b/c they're free & convenient to use. This dumpster was located in the parking lot behind the storefront, far enough away to where it seems like the communal dumpster. Well the owner of the Bar & Grill here walked out & asked "What the f*** are you doing back here?" I told him I was collecting these, & explained what I was using them for. Here's where it gets weird. This guy was cussing mad because he assumed I was dumping here (understandable, until you read what's next). I told him I was taking these jugs, but he swears they're not his & asked why the f they're in his dumpster & complained that I was pouring oil in it (this thing was filthy anyway, what's a little oil gonna do?). I told him somebody else must have thrown them in. After a little more back & forth, saying essentially the same things, he then tells me to just "Grab your s*** & get the f*** outta here." I remind him once more that the jugs are not mine & I was taking them, as I'm loading the jugs into my car. I forget what else he said, but he was basically complaining that people are using his dumpster, & tells me to just get the hell out. I hop in & immediately drive off. Here's the thing, this is a bar & grill. They serve fried food. They're the only restaurant on this storefront. How the frick can they fry stuff without using 5 gallon jugs of oil to change out the fryers? How could this owner go beyond not knowing if his restaurant uses frying oil, to straight up denying using any & trying to accuse me of throwing those jugs in there? If I need more jugs, I'll just grab them from the local Wendy's, who has agreed to give me theirs (yes, I need a lot of jugs, I run a decent sized suburban sugaring operation). Let me know what you think.
