[Apple Watch] Sync timer apps between watch and phone

The timer apps on the Apple Watch and iPhone do not sync, making it difficult to check timers set on the phone while away from it. A feature to sync these timers would be very useful.

Have I configured something incorrectly, or do the timer apps on the watch and phone not sync? If I’ve set a timer on my phone, and then leave it in another room, I really want to be able to check the timer on my watch, and be notified when it ends. Seems crazy that these are considered separate apps. What am I doing wrong? (Happens often if I’m cooking and have the phone on the counter for a recipe, and have a pause while something bakes/simmers etc. and I go join may partner watching TV for ten minutes or whatever…)
