tl;dr i really need any tips on ways to come up with the vocal melody for any song i make, and more so the actual lyrics. i feel like crying, i have so much experience in producing music and playing guitar etc.. but i can't make vocals at all. it feels like my brain is itchy and i can't scratch it. i'm trying to make some indie music, inspired from cavetown. (i even try to write grunge rock inspired from nirvana). i have some nice chords and i can even make a full song instrumental but i can never ever think of a nice vocal melody to fit the song. i never know what the best amount of syllables to have on each line or chord and the note on which to sing it (the whole melody of it). then even if i do have a melody, i really can't write lyrics whatsoever. i feel that anything i write is just so cliche and basic or just straight up cringe and i have nothing to write about and my mind just genuinely goes blank every single time. it really upsets me when i listen to all these artists and they have like a million songs and they all sound different from each other and they're just really perfect and they can do that and i can't even write one.. honestly any tips at all is appreciated, i don't know if there is something i'm missing or if i'm genuinely just not talented and if i should just stop trying to make a song. (ive been trying for a whole year now and haven't gotten anywhere)
