Users are experiencing significant overheating issues with Lightroom Classic on new Asus laptops, even high-end models. Other demanding apps don't cause the same problem. The request is for better optimization of Lightroom to reduce CPU load and prevent overheating.
Hi all. I have been trying Lightroom Classic on a few models of brand new laptop. The Asus ProArt and the Asus Zephyrus. One had an Nvidia RTX 4070 and the other an RTX 5070. The first computer got so hot and the fans went so loud I had to return it - there's no way that was normal. So the 2nd computer I brought home, and ran into the same issue. I understand computers can get warm, or even "hot", but these are not workable temperatures. I have other apps, such as Evoto, that I use that are just as demanding for their Recommended specs and have no issues there. Does anybody know if Lightroom is just problematic, or could this be sort of an Asus-specific problem? I have now returned the Zephyrus as well. I'm considering trying either a Lenovo Legion or an HP Omen gaming laptop. The only reason I am even going with gaming laptops is that they are the only computer that have very high AI processing, TOPS in the 100's, whereas the low-end GPUs like Intel Arc and such are extremely low TOPS by comparison. My current older computer is an HP Spectre, but it can't handle any AI processing without nearly [crashing.to](http://crashing.to) be replaced asap.
