A user suggests a new model where job seekers create a single profile with their resume and skills, allowing employers to find and contact them instead of the other way around. This could reduce repetitive applications and save time for job seekers.
I’ve been thinking about how exhausting the normal job search process is for job seekers. You spend hours applying to jobs, uploading your resume over and over, filling out the same forms, and half the time you never hear anything back. It made me wonder if the model is backwards. What if instead of applying to dozens or hundreds of jobs, you just created one profile with your resume, skills, location, and the roles you want. Then employers could search for candidates who match what they need and reach out to you. Almost like a dating site for employment, where companies are discovering candidates instead of candidates constantly chasing job posts. From a job seeker perspective it seems like it could help with a few things: • fewer repetitive applications • less time spent filling out forms • employers contacting you instead of the other way around • easier for local companies to find you But I’m curious what people who are actively job searching think. Would you use something like this? Or do you prefer the traditional “apply to jobs” approach?
