The user notes that while the app supports laser cutting for standard dividers, it's difficult to get perfectly rounded corners for the Vintage style dividers without laser cutting. They suggest adding laser cutting support for this style as well.
Hi everyone! As the creator of the **Arkham Divider** project (a website for easy, DIY printing of Arkham Horror content), I often get asked: "How do I print these?" I’ve put together this guide as a go-to reference for the community. # TL;DR: The "Pro" Standard If you want your dividers to match the official FFG "Return To" dividers, use these specs: * **Paper thickness:** 300–320 g/m² * **Paper type:** Matte cardstock * **Finish:** No lamination * **Corners:** 4mm rounding * **Resolution:** 300 DPI (dots per inch) # 1. Choose Your Style The [arkham-divider.com](http://arkham-divider.com) website currently offers **9 divider styles** and about **50 different layouts**. You can choose based on your preference or storage needs: * **Orientation:** Vertical or horizontal. * **Storage Compatibility:** Layouts for "Return To" boxes, original campaign boxes, or deck boxes. * **Printer-Friendly:** Black & white options for laser printers. * **Sleeve-Ready:** Specifically sized to fit into sleeves (instead of lamination). # 2. Storage Solutions We offer layouts tailored for specific storage systems: [arkham-starter.com 3mm](https://preview.redd.it/0tkf74nexucg1.jpg?width=1414&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5c0750cd284cf41c7dcd7e6add79360209d527a) * **3mm:** Ideal for original campaign boxes. https://preview.redd.it/yrphz920yucg1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c72cc7c43a8f8b833c323125a8feebba8acce470 * **Arkham Deco:** Designed for campaign boxes and Gamegenic deck boxes. https://preview.redd.it/917v28n5yucg1.jpg?width=674&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5c28c419867c129e06cc5d0d0fcb17e6f7318bb * **Bands (by Eugene Sarnetsky):** Perfect for saving space. Just wrap your cards in a band and you’re good to go! # 3. How to Export https://preview.redd.it/vnbmruvayucg1.png?width=1668&format=png&auto=webp&s=24dd2f4afd4752721b0537d2f766e6aebd6f1308 Click the **"Print"** button for direct printing (**RGB**, 72 DPI) or to save as a PDF. For the best quality, click the **"..."** button and select **"PDF (HQ)"**. This option provide high-quality 300 DPI files in **CMYK** color profile (currently in Beta). # 4. Where to Print **Printing at Home** Most home printers handle paper between 80–150 g/m². To match FFG's 300–320 g/m² thickness: **- The "Glue" Method:** Print the front and back on separate sheets, then glue them together. [hot lamination with 125-micron gloss laminating film](https://preview.redd.it/nq330ei6zucg1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aff174beae4d67b51c3d7d335d960eefc76bcead) **- The "Sleeve" Method:** Use a home laminator or put the divider in a sleeve to add stiffness. *Note: Many home printers print darker than what you see on a monitor. If the result is too dark, try increasing the brightness by 5-10% in your printer settings.* **Professional Printing** Take your "PDF (HQ)" or TIFF images to a local print shop. * Ask for **300–320g Matte paper**. * Request **4mm corner rounding**. **A Note on Colors:** Don't expect a 100% color match with official FFG products. Official materials are printed using **offset printing**, while local shops use **digital printing**. These technologies differ, and professional color matching is usually a costly additional service. # 5. Double-Sided Printing & Alignment [Divider with \\"bleed\\"](https://preview.redd.it/eaf8bfygzucg1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b89406e5384967f48c8155815a41a5b06882d97) No printer is 100% accurate. There will always be a slight shift between the front and back. * **Pro Tip:** Always use the **"Bleed"** option. This adds extra space (usually 3mm) around the edges to ensure no white borders appear if the alignment shifts. # 6. Sleeving Sleeving is a great alternative to lamination. Compatible sizes: * **"Return To / Classic" & Ryno (Horizontal):** Use *Sleeve Kings Zombicide* or *Large CCG (89x130mm)* sleeves (manual trimming at the top required). * **"Return To" (Vertical):** **65x100 layout** Fits perfectly in **65x100mm** sleeves. * **3mm & Arkham Deco:** Compatible with **94x69mm** "Outer Sleeves." * **Arkham Deco (Vertical):** Compatible with **62x96mm** sleeves. # 7. Cutting and Rounding A standard hobby knife and a metal ruler are all you need. You may notice red **plus signs** in the app—these are **crop marks**. If you are cutting the dividers yourself, these marks will serve as your guide to ensure perfectly straight and accurate cuts. You can see how the process is done here: [**https://youtu.be/faZxq4966IU?si=4xPwTc20VA0HZtSA**](https://youtu.be/faZxq4966IU?si=4xPwTc20VA0HZtSA) However, keep in mind that **professional printing houses usually don't need these marks**. As long as your file has fixed **bleeds**, the print shop will handle the cutting automatically. Just let them know the bleed size you used (e.g., 3mm). # Corner Rounding https://preview.redd.it/kko515t40vcg1.png?width=896&format=png&auto=webp&s=b0af99f12f554ef00fe0eca0c247115c71e32f0f In a printing house, corners are typically rounded using a professional corner-cutting machine. However, these machines may struggle with the intricate tabs of the **"Vintage Style"** dividers. https://preview.redd.it/n9difbnc0vcg1.png?width=1086&format=png&auto=webp&s=9877dddda34c27d8d56a2bd16216ccc97fa190a9 If you want perfectly rounded corners for the Vintage style, I recommend using the **"PDF (HQ)"** option in the app. These layouts are compatible with **laser cutting** and already include rounded paths. You *could* use scissors, but it will be a painfully slow process! https://preview.redd.it/bxkmr24xzucg1.jpg?width=809&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80f2a93bacbb0a5b04a6ae1be5dc94417085ef7d https://preview.redd.it/bq0297byzucg1.jpg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=086e490ddc52ccfcb72415fc13a9994a4125cc06 For standard dividers, a cheap **4mm corner rounder punch** from Amazon is more than enough to get a professional look. # 8. One More Thing: Investigator Tokens https://preview.redd.it/nem8ltqj0vcg1.jpg?width=1197&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1918ac4b5009f95726b997f89797e54cc148d71 Arkham Divider also supports printing **Investigator Tokens**. https://preview.redd.it/x6iyd5fo0vcg1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=480b3c3009966e2fef5c2d3cc720b98bcddb8c80 To get a perfect cut, use a cheap **25mm circle hole puncher**, which is also easily available online. # Additional Note Always ensure your printer settings are set to **"Actual Size"** or **100% scale**. Do not use "Fit to Page" or extra margins. Also, it is always a good idea to print a **test page** before committing to a large batch! I wish you the best printing and happy games!
