Users want a dedicated space to analyze and discuss character development and arcs in the show, particularly around characters like the Dean and Annie.
I made a post on re-watching season 3 and it brought up a pretty good discussion, so I'm doing another one on season 4 and just write down quick notes. I gave this season a pass while watching it in the past. But re-watching it I'm finding more of issues with it. What hasn't been said about the flanderization of the characters, but I noticed mostly in the Dean and Annie over their obession with Jeff. Dean moving right next door to Jeff? He becomes much more clingy and desperate in this season and Annies full character is just her wanting to be with Jeff. Also, they are just overly mean to Pierce, more than they usually are. I think apart from one or two scenes. They just insult him. The finale is awful. Proper fan fiction, I like the episode RCT but everything after it that includes the "Evil Timeline" just does not work imo. Having said all that, It does have its stand out moments. I like the one to one Pierce and Jeff have in the barber shop. The Body switch and inspector space time convention episodes are great imo. The writers get too much flack, The creator got fired and were left with an icy atmosphere. Jumping into the deep end of a show that was almost on its last legs. At best, it has some fun episodes that shouldn't be taken too seriously, at worst, it had some bad moments and episodes that were (Mostly) corrected in season 5.
