User is looking for a smartwatch that can track a wide range of activities, handle GPS well for offshore and hiking use, and be durable in harsh marine conditions. They want it rated to 40m for recreational diving.
As the title suggests, I’m after some recommendations for brands or specific watches. I’ve been researching online but there’s so much conflicting information between heavy promotion and harsh criticism that it’s hard to know what’s genuinely good, especially when im mainly looking for tracking functions and am not so interested in receiving texts and calls ext. I’ve seen Garmin mentioned a lot, but I’ve also heard it’s not necessarily the only (or best) option, so I’d really appreciate suggestions from real users. A bit about my use I work on boats and occasionally do offshore passages (moving boats from one place to another). Marine based hobbies: surfing, fishing, diving, watersports. Land based activities: hiking, cycling, workouts. So I’m looking for a watch that can: Track a wide range of activities (multisport) Handle GPS well (for offshore + hiking use) Be durable and reliable in harsh marine conditions Ideally be rated to 40m so I can use it for recreational diving I’m fully aware that a multisport smartwatch probably won’t replace a dedicated dive computer and I’m not expecting it to. I just want something that’s safe and suitable for occasional recreational dives, while still being a strong all rounder. If you’ve used something in similar conditions (especially marine environments), I’d love to hear your experience.
