The user has a JSAUX 6-in-1 docking station with only USB-A ports. They need to connect a USB-C dongle for their 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller and would like the dock to have USB-C output ports.
Hi guys, I could really use some help. Sorry if this question has been asked before — I tried searching but couldn’t find anything that quite matched my situation. I recently bought a dock for my Steam Deck. Connecting it to my TV worked perfectly, but I ran into a major issue with input lag when using my Xbox controller via Bluetooth. My couch is about 5–6 meters away from the dock, and the delay made games basically unplayable. After doing some research, I came across the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller with the 2.4G connection, which sounded like a good solution. It arrived today and setup was super easy — just plug in the dongle and it works instantly with the Steam Deck. No lag so far, I love it. However, here’s my problem: The 8BitDo dongle is USB-C. I’m using the JSAUX 6-in-1 docking station, which only has 3× USB-A ports and no USB-C output ports. The Steam Deck’s USB-C port is obviously already occupied by the dock connection itself. So… what’s the best way to handle this? I’ve heard that using USB hubs is not recommended and might introduce additional input delay. In the future I’m planning to use up to four 8BitDo controllers, so I’m trying to figure out the best setup before buying more hardware. What would you recommend in this situation?
