User is facing a problem with their dryer vent going straight into the garage, causing humidity issues that rust their machinery. They are seeking advice on how to reroute the vent to comply with code and solve the humidity problem.
Hey guys I was hoping someone could give me some insight into a problem I’m having. My dryer vent currently goes straight into the garage. It wasn’t an issue for the owner before me but I have a lot of engine and machinery projects and the humidity from the dryer tends to make my stuff rust up really fast. It’s about 30 feet straight ahead from the garage door to the utility room door in which the dryer is placed along the wall. The best solution I could come up with was running a vent along the rafters and having it come out on the wall to the left outside the garage, but that’s not realistic as far as keeping it up to code. What can I do?
