Long review ahead ⚠️ Hello Ather family, it's been a month and I've finally completed 1000 kms on my Rizta Ok, So I was in a hunt for a new scooter as a replacement for my 2009 Access 125, it's still drives like a rocket (old access owners will understand). But rising fuel costs and low mileage of Access125 and ultra hard suspension, all of these together got me into the hunt for a new scooter. I started off my research with ICE scooters, I was eyeing the Jupiter 125. Took a test drive and wasn't convinced with the power (coming from access), So instantly rejected. Then I got introduced to this sub on reddit, where I was reading a lot on Ather and comparisons on EVs. Then gave a thought on electric mobilities. Boom, went and test drove the River Indie, Tvs iQube, Ola S1 family, Ather 450x, Ather Rizta. I wanted a family oriented scooter that could carry my parents also in comfort, and should be spacious, considering I am upgrading a scooter after 16 years. Was fully convinced with River Indie and Ather Rizta(both coming down to a price of 1.55 L and 1.60 L). Did an in-depth analysis of both these scooters as these were very comfortable both for the rider as well as the pillion. River Indie was excellent interms of comfort, handling and dynamics. But wasn't yet convinced with the brand value and it's establishment as of 2025 (it might grow as they have a solid product). Zeroed down to the Rizta, my running was around 35 kms a day, So I was not interested in streching to the 3.7 kWh variant. I wanted the latest bells and whistles so went ahead on the Z variant. Finally- time to buy the Rizta Z 2.9 Enquired multiple showrooms in Hyderabad, each of them were giving me a price quote of a difference around 3k to 8k varied from showroom to showroom. Prices offered- RAAM Ather Somajuguda- 1.72 Pride Uppal - 1.68 Pride Kukatpally - 1.59 (All prices were including accessories) Pride Kukatpally gave me the best price and best deal on accesories. Final quotation- Insurance, RTO, Accessories and Eight70 warranty 1.59 Lakh Color chosen- Pangong Blue Dual Tone I booked the scooter and the delivery was given to me under an hour Review of my scooter starts here 👇 Completed my PDI in the showroom and did a very elaborate PDI for an hour. Everything was okay, proceeded to documentation. Took the delivery of my new scooter. It felt so good taking the delivery, the team and the showroom was all lit up and very enthusiastically did the key ceremony and rolled out of the showroom. The first things that felt were the tall riding stance, large seat and the instant pull and nimble handling. Pros (after riding 1000 kms) 1. Nimble handling 2. Instant acceleration 3. XXL sized seat 4. Adequate range of around 105 kms in smarteco and 90 in zip 5. Features like magic twist, auto hold are a bliss. 6. The bootlamp comes a lot in handy. 7. Bootspace is amazing, gulps in a lot of luggage as per scooter standards Cons (after riding 1000 kms) 1. Ather should have offered dual disc, they are charging such a hefty amount and a rear drum is a bummer. 2. Suspension can be quite stuff for bad roads , although stuff suspension comes handy on smooth and straight roads 3. The backrest always hits the pillion riders legs while they hop on to the scooter 4. The horn is a bit meek and I'd prefer a better sounding one. 5. It would have been a blessing if Ather provides a dark mode for the screen It takes around 6.5 hours to full charge, i usually use the home charger itself, never used the Ather grid as I never had the need to. A few self maintenance I do- 1. Use a microfiber cloth, and I wipe it every alternate day 2. A self water wash once in a week with a local bike wash shampoo 3. Keep my brake discs clean for longevity. 4. I also got the silicone spray for the belt maintenance, yet to use it (fellow ather owners, tell me at what intervals do I use the silicone spray for the belt) It looks very big beside my Access125 (attached picture) All in all it's a very practical scooter and very smooth, let's see how it performs further. My daily life rides have become very plushy and comfortable with the Rizta. I don't have to worry about the fuel costs, oil changes, etc... That was my review of my 1k milestone on my Ather Rizta. Looking forward to many more miles on it. Any suggestions, feedback, reviews, comments from fellow owners, enthusiasts are welcome. Happy motoring peeps 😄
