I built a streak tracker specifically for hobbies to help users stay accountable. Looking for ideas on features that could enhance user engagement and retention.
3 months ago I had an idea most people start hobbies and quit within 2 weeks. Not because they don't want it. Because there's nothing keeping them accountable. So I built HobbyStreak a streak tracker specifically for hobbies. Here's what I learned building solo from scratch: 1. Your first 10 users are the hardestTook me weeks. Each one felt like a victory. 2. Organic > Paid (at least early on)Every single user came without spendinga rupee on ads. 3. Retention is everythingAn app with 60 engaged users beats an appwith 1000 who never open it. 4. Ship fast, improve laterMy first version was embarrassingly simple.Just shipped push notifications this week 2 months after launch. 5. The problem you solve has to be personalI built this because I had the problem myself. That's the only reason it has real users. Still early. Still learning. Anyone else building solo? What's your biggest challenge right now?
