User submitted a US Embassy crisis intake form and received a case number but no further communication, leading to confusion about what the case number means and if someone will reach out. This indicates a need for improved transparency and communication regarding the form's processing.
hi all, stranded in Dubai since Saturday. Because of all the regional disruptions and cancelled flights, I filled out the US Embassy crisis intake form a few days ago and received a case number. Since then… nothing. I’m also enrolled in STEP for both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai embassies. The only things I keep receiving are the general alerts saying shelter in place, avoid going out, arrange your own way out of the area, and don’t come to the consulate. I’m trying to understand what the case number actually means in practice. Does someone eventually reach out? Has anyone here actually received a follow-up after submitting the form? Or is it mostly just logged in their system unless things escalate further? Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this before.
