Users want travel apps to recommend towns or cities that are safe, have strong internet, and are not party-centric, suitable for long-term remote work.
Hey everyone, My partner and I are planning a long, slow trip through Latin America starting in Mexico and making our way all the way down to Patagonia over the next year. We’re looking for specific town/city recommendations along the way. What we’re into: * Hiking * Nature in general (mountains, jungles, lakes, etc.) * Chill beach towns * Exploring neighborhoods in bigger cities * Slower pace, good food, local culture What we’re NOT into: * Party towns * Heavy drinking scenes * Backpacker party hostels * Drugs/nightlife-focused places Three non-negotiables: 1. Reliable, strong internet (we both work online full-time) 2. Decent safety (we know nowhere is perfect, but places where you can walk around comfortably during the day and not feel constantly on edge) 3. Not party-centric We’re open to: * Smaller towns with solid infrastructure * Mid-sized cities * Bigger cities with cool neighborhoods that feel livable * Your favorite nomad hubs - We liked Bali contrary to popular opinion Would love recommendations for: * Specific towns in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil * Underrated spots that aren’t overrun with backpacker party culture * Places that surprised you in a good way If you’ve done part of this route while working remotely, even better. Would also love to know if certain places had surprisingly bad WiFi or felt less safe than expected.
