Users want the ability to share a route in Google Maps that cannot be edited or changed. The shared route should be static, allowing others to zoom in/out and pan around without altering the route.
Was just looking at an upcoming running race and they have a link to the route which is on google maps. It looks great and is easy to read and, importantly, can not be edited. Static route, but the map can still be zoomed in/out and panned around. Does anyone know how to make this? I know how to make a route in MyMaps, but when shared I think someone can try turn by turn or the route will change to find the fastest way, etc.. I'd like to be able to share a route with people that they can open in google maps, but they can't make changes, and the route does not change, no turn by turn. All they can do is see the route in google maps and zoom/pan around. Thanks!
