User seeks ways to reduce storage consumption by Time Machine on their new MacBook, indicating a need for better management tools or features that help users control backup sizes and storage usage.
I just got a new Mac today I got 512GB but it's showing right now 452.18 GB available of 494.38 GB, wondering why?? I had a pro before this (didn't really know much about it as I was new to MAC OS) and it took up so much space internally- I was reading something online about image disk or snapshots is hard to get back vs something else.. but I can't remember where I was reading it. If someone has any tips please let me know. I want to preserve as much internal storage as possible. How important is Time Machine? How often should I back it up or not?
