The user likes Dong Chinese for tone pair practice but wants a similar tool that includes sentences for testing tone recognition, not just tone pairs. They also want a larger word pool than what's currently available.
Hello, I have come to the conclusion to practice tone pair recognition until Im fairly precise with it before going deep into vocab. With that I will imitate the tones to get more of a feeling with it. Now I have stumble upon "Dong Chinese tone practice" and its what I need. I can slowly build myself up and see which tone pairs Im good at and which not. Im planing to do it until I will get a good end score reliably. Now I have 2 struggles with this website. First its "only" limited to tone pairs. I would actually like if there is something like sentences where one can test their tone recognition. (Although I think this is rather useless because if one is on that level he doenst need to practice that anymore) Secondly maybe more important is its limited word pool. I can see not listeing to the tones itself but at some point recognizing the words alone. For that reason Im asking here wether your guys know a similar tool like Dong Chinese. I have seen one at Super Chinese but its not as good as its a mix of tones ans pinyin aswell as its answers are limited. If there is no other tool I might just listen to chinese sentences as dictations (Videos, Movies etc.) and write them one by one until Im good enough but this one might take a lot of energy. Have you done something similar?
