IKEA should improve its delivery service to Delhi NCR, as many popular items are listed as "not deliverable to your area" despite being available in other stores. Customers are being told to arrange their own logistics, which is unacceptable for a major retailer.
**Important Edit:** Clarification for some who are confusing this as a consumer rights issue. While it may loosely qualify as a deficiency in service, my original article never framed it as such. This post is intended to expose a direct lack of interest on part of IKEA in conducting its business in Delhi. If anyone has doubts, just go and check Google Map reviews of the Delhi store vs the Mumbai Worli store. As a consumer based in Delhi interested in IKEA products, this is a call to the management to either improve things or move out, rather than treating Delhi as a second-grade market. If some folks think it is ok for a multi-national retailer treats the capital of world's most populated country like this, then goodluck to you. As a Delhiite, I'm not ok with this. I’ve been trying to order some basic IKEA furniture (some of the most popular international articles) for **over a month now** in Delhi NCR. * The items are **available in Navi Mumbai** and other stores. * When I try ordering online, it says **“not deliverable to your area.”** * IKEA chat support literally told me that **customers should arrange their own logistics** through a third-party vendor and gave me random phone numbers. 🤯 * When I asked for escalation, they admitted that the **Delhi store has “minimum articles and services”** and higher management is “working on it”. The work management is doing is clearly transferring their responsibilities to customers My questions are: 1. Does a national capital city like Delhi, one of the biggest markets in India, deserve to be treated like this? 2. Why should *customers* be responsible for coordinating logistics for items IKEA itself sells, and offers "online"? 3. Is this happening to others too, or am I just unlucky with the timing? 4. Can we really do something about it, apart from just **"get it somewhere else"**? Feels like the Delhi store is nothing more than a glorified Miniso right now, most of the famous IKEA items are just “out of stock” or “non-serviceable” here, while stuff likes clips, boxes and strainers are available!
