Users want the ability to export their scanned card data from one application and import it into another using a standard data format. This prevents vendor lock-in and ensures data portability, allowing users to switch apps without losing their collection data.
In case you didn’t see my other post- I’ve got a 9yo who has recently stated collecting pokemon. I’ve come across some cards scanning apps an have a few questions. Is there a standard ‘data format’ for Pokémon card lists? Ie, can you export from one app and import into another? I don’t want to spend hours scanning into one app to find its a black home that I can never get my data out from in a standard format. Also, what are the scanning apps that are recommended? I used “card scanner “ by appsmartcore and wasn’t that impressed. It was slow to scan, and when it did it came up with a long list of potential matches that looked nothing like the scanned card. Ps given that this is a kids hobby I’d rather not have to pay for an expensive ongoing subscription!
