Users are experiencing issues with the in-app browser where pixel data and conversions are broken due to session resets. A request for improved functionality to ensure users can navigate without losing their cart or session is needed.
Had a client whose pixel data and conversions looked a little broken for weeks. We thought it was the creatives, blamed the audience setting we set. Turns out many users were never leaving Meta's in-app browser. Cookies were off, sessions were getting reset...We had a microsoft clarity recording where the user spent 6 minutes on the website, added to cart, then was inactive for 2 minutes. The second they returned the entire website session got reset and the cart was empty. They hit back and left. Conversions were being missed. We started pushing them to their real browser before hitting the landing page. Conversion data is now starting to clean up. And retargeting as well. Anyone else running into this? Feels undertalked about
