New sales reps often feel overwhelmed by the freedom in outside sales and struggle with prospecting. A tool that provides guidance on effective prospecting strategies could help them succeed.
Good morning, I got a new job selling Out of Home (OOH) / Billboards advertising locally. I live in a large metro area. I have sold since I was in college. I got a general biz internship with a local car dealer group, then just never left the sales industry. I moved around within the sales industry, but I mainly worked in a call center environment, receiving inbound calls. This is my first outside sales job where I the freedom to do whatever, within reason. I did sell cars briefly at one of the dealers I worked at, but overall, we had a structure / routine we had to follow. I am finding I am kind of overwhelmed by the freedom, and am pretty lost IMO. I have booked a few meetings, and gotten to do a proposal, but those were all folks I had some kind of prior relationship with over the last 6 -7 years of my professional career. Any tips regarding prospecting / drumming up biz? I feel like I am still pretty vague, but that's how lost I am.
