User needs a sleeping bag that is water-resistant and tear-resistant for camping in rainy conditions, suggesting a feature to recommend such products.
I’m planing an extended trip spring summer, early fall. American Midwest to upper fla. I like to sleep under the stars as much as possible, but the area I’m visiting has a lot of rain. I’ve done some extended bivving before, but the foot of my sleeping bag ripped and got wet from the rain. Is there a water resistant, tear resistant sleeping bag/quilt that that will be able to take the occasional stick or rain before I can get the full shelter set up? Edit: I’m open to a supplemental Bivy bag as an added layer, if you guys have experience with some light weight, non structural bivy bags that work in conjunction with a sleeping bag/quilt
