User is frustrated by Alexa adding unnecessary comments, compliments, new product announcements, or upsells after simple commands. They want Alexa to "Just do the thing" without extra dialogue, as these additional responses are driving them to consider ditching the device.
Dear anyone who works on Amazon Alexa: Please, for the love of all that is good in the world, stop adding little tidbits after each Alexa request. It's driving me bonkers, and I'm centimeters away from ditching your devices because of it. When I ask Alexa to play brown noise for my kids, I don't need you to compliment my selection and ask if I'd like to create a mix to make it more fun. When I ask you to turn the lamps in the living room off, I don't need you to let me know about your new speaker that's coming out soon. When I ask you to check the weather, I don't need you to remind me that I can use you to order products (period, let alone completely unrelated products). Just do the thing. That's it. Anybody else feelin' the itch to return to the days of pocket watches, record players and analog phones?
