A CX Director is looking for AI solutions that can be deployed on-premise or in a VPC to meet compliance requirements. They need a vendor that can provide auditable decision paths and align with EU AI regulations.
CX Director at a European telecom, ~500 agents across 4 countries. We handle about 15k calls/day and the board wants us to cut costs by automating routine interactions. Totally reasonable ask. Problem: every AI vendor we've evaluated in the last 6 months has been blocked by our compliance and legal teams. The reasons keep repeating: cant explain how the AI makes decisions (black box) no on-premise or VPC deployment option (data sovereignty is non-negotiable for us, we're in Germany and France) no clear EU AI Act alignment documentation audit trails are not production-ready vendor cant sign our DPA template without major redlines We've looked at 4 platforms so far. Two were US-based and couldnt do on-prem at all. One had decent compliance docs but their conversation AI was basically a prompted GPT wrapper with guardrails, our security team ran a red-team exercise and got it to contradict our cancellation policy in under 10 minutes. The fourth was enterprise-grade but quoted us 18 months for full deployment which is way too long. Our current stack is Genesys Cloud CX + Salesforce Service Cloud. Whatever we add needs to integrate with both without replacing either. What I need: AI that can explain every decision it makes (auditable decision paths, not just chat logs) on-prem or EU-hosted VPC deployment EU AI Act Article 13/14 alignment documentation ready now, not on the roadmap integrates with Genesys and Salesforce realistic deployment timeline (3-4 months, not 18) bonus: can handle voice not just chat Our compliance team isnt being unreasonable. They've seen what happens when AI goes wrong in regulated industries. I just need to find a vendor that actually meets these requirements instead of handwaving through them in the demo.
