The current electronic approval process for vehicle repairs is overly time-consuming and inefficient. Mechanics spend excessive time documenting, measuring, and taking pictures to submit quotes, leading to bay tie-ups and delays. The system often rejects quotes based on minor discrepancies in book time, forcing a lengthy re-submission process. A more efficient workflow is needed to reduce administrative burden and speed up approvals.
Anyone else hate these companies that require electronic approval using Auto Integrate software? I have several utility company trucks and dozens of HVAC company vans that require some digital mechanic 5 states over to approve work on a vehicle they've never seen. It takes FOREVER to do all the, documenting, measuring and picture taking to submit a quote. Then the vehicle ties up my bay for half a day waiting on some nerd to reject it because the book time is 5 minutes less than I quoted. Then the process starts over. Meanwhile, I got the driver calling every 5 minutes asking if it's done and I'm like, well it would go faster if I could start working on the damn thing! I got news for these companies using these services, they're ripping you off! I charge triple what I would normally charge because of the headache I have to deal with.
