Currently, eBay allows users to create accounts without email verification, leading to potential misuse. Implementing email verification would enhance account security and prevent unauthorized listings.
More of a rant, but i find it absolutely crazy that Ebay doesn't require any email verification to create an account. Someone was able to create an Ebay account with my email and create a listing. Only reason I noticed is that I was getting emails about people asking if a brand new Switch 2 for $250 was real. The kicker is that you cant reset the password because they can also setup MFA without requiring any email verification. I tested this myself under a new email and created an account, MFA, and a listing without a single verification email getting sent to me. Eventually, youre forced to contact customer support. The funny thing is that I got transfered to some department to handle account security issues, and she for sure thought Ebay requires email verification to create the account, so they dont even know what's going on. Sorry for the rant, that's all
