User expresses frustration over tangled outdoor gear and suggests a feature that helps organize and manage gear more efficiently, reducing time spent untangling items.
I spent my Saturday morning trying to do some upkeep on my outdoor gear. I opened my storage bin and was hit with a mess of various straps, webbings and loops; straps for my backpack, tie-downs for the roof rack and a bunch of nylon loops that I think belong to a tent I sold three years ago. I spent twenty minutes trying to untangle one strap. Then I realized I was actually making it worse by mixing it up with another strap. You just stand there covered in dust and wonder when taking care of gear became a full-time job. I finally gave up on getting everything and just rolled the straps into loose bundles. It's funny that we buy heavy duty gear thinking it will make adventures easier when in reality, we just spend more time managing the gear than using it. The whole mess felt cheap and poorly made, like those survival kits on alibaba that look like they would break easily. I've decided that if I can't find the strap in thirty seconds next time the gear stays in the bin. Life is too short to spend it fighting with straps. I'll just stick to trails that don't require a lot of gear.
